Blue Lagoon - Iceland

I have always wanted to visit the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. So when the opportunity came to do a house swap with a family in Mosfellsbar, just outside Reykjavik, we said yes.

The Blue Lagoon is a world famous geothermal spa. The pools, dug into the middle of a flat expanse of black lava, are filled by overflow from the nearby thermal power station. The water is around 38*c and the most wonderful colour of blue, hence the name. There is a poolside bar, a sauna, decoratively positioned caves and mud pack facial.

Max and I loved it. Joseph was not so sure. TOO HOT MUMMY!

The Luna landscape around the spa is amazing.
